Seven Volvo Open 70 racing yachts — Ericsson 3, Ericsson 4, Delta Lloyd, PUMA, Telefonica Blue and Telfonica Black — departed Boston harbor and set sail for Galway Ireland, some2,500 nautical miles away. ![]() David Ortiz, Boston Red Sox Is David Ortiz out of his slump? We’re still a ways away from answering this question, but we’re all pulling for him. Seen here is a photo of David Oritz of the Boston Red Sox after hitting a home run in 2008. Ortiz hit his first home run of 2009 last night after starting the season with zero home runs in his first 39 games. It was a great feat to witness in person and one that that Red Sox nation homes Ortiz repeats many times moving forward. Go Papi.
