Fog encompases the Volvo Open 70’s as they depart Boston Harbor for Galway Ireland :: beginning the 2,500 nautical mile Leg Seven of the 2008-2009 Volvo Ocean Race.

The start of Leg Seven of the 2008-2009 Volvo Ocean Race. Seven Volvo Open 70 racing yachts — Ericsson 3, Ericsson 4, Delta Lloyd, PUMA, Telefonica Blue and Telfonica Black — departed Boston harbor and set sail for Galway Ireland, some2,500 nautical miles away. Leg Seven is estimated to last just over one week.

Sundance, Sailing off Newport

The Sundance — skippered by Joe — off the coast of Newport, Rhode Island. The Sundance is a 34foot Hunter sailboat based of the infamous Dutch Harbor in Jamesown, Rhode Island.

David Ortiz, Boston Red Sox

Is David Ortiz out of his slump? We’re still a ways away from answering this question, but we’re all pulling for him. 

Seen here is a photo of David Oritz of the Boston Red Sox after hitting a home run in 2008. Ortiz hit his first home run of 2009 last night after starting the season with zero home runs in his first 39 games. It was a great feat to witness in person and one that that Red Sox nation homes Ortiz repeats many times moving forward.
