Nikon 50mm f/1.8 D :: Lens Review

The Nikon 50mm F/1.8 D is one of my favorite lenses. It’s very fast :: very sharp and super compact. Its ability to shoot in low light and it’s narrow depth of field are the main attractors to this lens. The 50mm F/1.8D works great indoors without the assistance of a flash, more times than not producing crisp photos every time. Best of all, the 50mm F/1.8D costs about $100. For any photographer out there with a Nikon dSLR, I’d highly recommend adding this to your camera bag :: It’s worth every penny.

Here is the Nikon 50mm F/1.8D with 52mm Sunpak UV filter:

For those using the Nikon D40, this lens will only work in Manual focus mode :: but for just over one-hundred dollars it’s still worth considering. It works great with my Nikon D300 and is a great companion for my 18-200mm VR lens. Also worth noting, the 50mm F/1.8D is fully compatible with Nikon’s FX (full frame) D700, D3 and D3x cameras.
